I finally finished The Catcher in the Rye, somehow, i feel that i kind of didn't understand the book.
Why do i feel like this? Because, after i finished the book, my sister asked me if i knew where Holden was located at the end of the book. I told her that Holden went back home, but my sister replied that he was at a mental institute of some sort.
So i am very confused by this book. I really didn't understand the main idea of this book, because Holden just fooled around throughout the whole book, with no real problems.
Some parts of the book i liked was around page 240..? Holden was talking about how there is no place in the world that is 'peaceful'. He says this because everywhere he goes he sees the 'F' curse on the walls of schools, museums and more.
Well this is the last comment of this book :)

I would be confused too if the story didn't seem to have a basis or main idea (or one easy to understand anyway). But I'm glad you actually found something you liked about the book. From your description, it sounds like he doesn't know what he wants to do in his life.
I told you! I didn't get the whole book. I was like Huh? when I finished reading the book. Ths book is just describing what hpapened to his past and like yeahh.. He is kinda mental. I don't know. We totally need someone that is exper in this book! :)
Hey Sharon~~ A lot of people read that book and said it was really good.. but confusing too. I am sort of confused too. :P Oh well.. I hope you enjoyed reading the book at least a little~! Oh, and you really should read "Howl's Moving Castle" and "Castle in the Air"! It is really good.
